Ways to Elevate your Whipped Coffee

Recipes Jun 17, 2020

While whipped coffee is something amazing (thank you TikTok) and has made 2020 far better, even some of the best things can be improved. This legendary Dalgona recipe is climbing the charts in popularity, but it doesn’t mean that it can’t be customized to fit your and your loved one’s favourite flavours.

Strawberry Milk Dalgona “Coffee”

This recipe is sure to make your taste buds happy and get your childhood memories flowing, as its flavour is all about nostalgia. The freeze-dried strawberry powder alongside some milk brings some floral and simple notes, which is complimented by the frosty cold milk (of your choice).  This is one recipe that is good for both adults and kids, because it’s delicious and refreshing while being relatively PG, (as coffee is rated R).

This is also a great recipe for when you want something sweet and relatively low calorie without caffeine. I too get the munchies at night and this is the perfect way to satisfy that late night craving without being forced to clean the house at 3:00am. Sit back and relax as you reflect on the old memories of strawberry-vanilla frozen yogurt off the kids` menu, your favourite strawberry candy or strawberry milk, which we all know and love.

Mocha Dalgona Coffee

If the two of you are looking for a way to have some coffee with some subtle cocoa flavour, then mocha is the way to go. This is the perfect combination of mature yet childlike, and works for brunch or the early risers, with its sweet notes and strong flavour, that’s what coffee is all about. It's mature yet childlike because the caffeine will give you the right kick for the day without bringing on the vibes of “I need to work” or “I have so much to do today”, which coffee tends to do.

This weekday or weekend treat is one for the books because it can put anyone in a good mood no matter the time of day. It’s a great way to show your love for your partner (with chocolate being an aphrodisiac ;) because this sweet yet energy-boosting drink will lift your partner’s spirits and remind them to kick ass no matter what, because that’s what coffee is all about.

Whipped Peanut Butter Dalgona “Coffee”

When I think of guilty pleasure, the first thing (if not the only thing) that comes to mind is nut butter. While this can be confused for a kink, I am actually talking about the delicious spreadable treat that can make any piece of toast look appealing while being a best friend to jam. If you and your boo are lovers of everything timeless, then this is the upgraded Dalgona “coffee” for you.

For something on the sweeter side without being too overpowering, this is a definite way to go. The silky&smooth notes of peanut butter make this a treat for a cheat day, when the only thing you care about is eating what you desire and as much as you can of it. This is also a great recipe for a high protein day when the only thing you need to make sure of is that you fill each meal and snack with as much protein as you can. We all know that coffee is great, but whether you love it or hate it, we all have days when we need to switch it up and stick to the classics, and PB (with or without the J) is a treat that nobody can resist.

Cookies and Cream Dalgona Coffee

If you and your loved one need a way to reminisce about all things amazing in life, this is one upgraded Dalgona coffee for the two of you. This recipe places all the power in the cookies and cream toppings, which is incredibly important. No one wants to have one cookie with their cookies&cream inspired treat, because then it isn’t truly worth it – we all crave having each bite, sip, or slurp be filled with a hint of cream and all the cookies.

Whenever you two are looking for a pick me up that is the best of both worlds, this is an excellent choice. Having a base of milk with the whipped coffee and whipped cream on top covered with the cookie of your choice is a great way to start your day and make it as sweet as you (and your boo!)

As always, stay healthy and safe.
