Best Patios in the “GTA”

Dating In The 6ix Jul 01, 2020

It’s the start of patio season baby and I could not be more excited! With Phase 2 happening all across the GTA it is exciting to feel as though life is slowly returning back to the norm. People are spending more time outside, you can grab lunch, dinner, or a drink on a patio, and you can now include more people within your bubble, because we have all wanted to kill our quaranteam one way or another.

But with all the excitement of getting to go out into the real world again in more than just sweatpants, it can be overwhelming to pick where you want to go, so to help with where to wine and dine first, I present you the best patios to welcome summer and cheers to some familiar normalcy.

#1 Symposium Cafe Restaurant & Lounge - 8187 Yonge St, Thornhill

This is a true rendition on a diner from the décor to the food because the perfectly painted walls and the comfortable booths make this the perfect hybrid of good food and company without the need to dress to the nines.

Symposium offers an extensive menu built for meat lovers, vegetarians, vegans, and those in between, because there really is something for everyone, between their handcrafted burgers, pasta, and amazing entrées. Symposium also has a daily deal and happy hour, which makes it always feel like a party, so definitely check it out for a casual ladies’ night or date night.

#2 Jack Astor's Bar & Grill - 155 York Blvd, Richmond Hill

When I think of Jack Astor’s, I think of everything fun. The vibrant décor to the vibrant ingredients used (both in food and drinks) make this place a good time no matter the hour.

Everything at Jack Astor’s feels like it’s always made with love because every menu item is always beautiful, vibrant, and never fails to taste amazing. Their classic items, such as chicken tenders and burgers, to some fancier fare, like pasta and steak, are always on point and go great with the vibe of the place. Jack Astor’s also has amazing mixed drinks, which help to lighten the mood.

#3 Moxie's Grill & Bar - 30 Colossus Dr, Woodbridge

This is the perfect patio option for some dinner and drinks when you want to dress up. The décor is always up to par and will leave the company feeling like they are on vacation. Not to mention that the menu has something for everyone, plus some amazing happy hour deals.

Moxies has a classic menu, but makes it 10x fancier. From the garlic butter shrimp, to the steak and frites, and the vegetarian power bowl, there really is a variety of menu items to choose from, which can be mixed and matched for the ultimate meal that blends in vegan items with ones for meat and seafood lovers. For a night where you want to dress up and feel like you are out of your hometown, this will be the best place for you.

#4 Milestones - 30 High Tech Rd, Richmond Hill

For a place that is more on the casual side but the food tastes amazing, this is the definite pick for you. The menu items here push the limits and are unique, which is the perfect environment for all kinds of foodies.

Their amazing apps, like the coconut calamari and the root vegetable chips, compliment their mains and drinks by making you hungrier than you were before. Whether pasta, meat, or Mexican fair tickle your taste buds, there is something for everyone and it will be delicious no matter what.

From breakfast to NY style cheesecake wrapped in the crepe, there is something that everyone will love because it is 110% delicious. Muncheez also has some amazing juices and alcoholic beverages to complete the true dining experience from their sugarcane juice, which definitely help to put them on the map.

#6 Lone Star Texas Grill - 157 York Blvd, Richmond Hill

This Americana Mexican restaurant is one that is no stranger to serving customers, patio season or not. Their sizzling fajitas, exceptional enchiladas, and marvelous margaritas are the perfect way to enjoy your first go at patio season because they are worth the risk. Don’t over dress but come for a good time with some friends, family, partner, or other people in your bubble to kick off the patio season with some amazing food and drinks that never disappoint.

#7 Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar - 155 York Blvd, Richmond Hill

Calling all Italian food lovers, because this is one restaurant for patio season that you don’t want to miss. The amazing pastas and pizzas will definitely leave you wanting more, and the impressive list of drinks is amazing feature and compliment to the food. Scabbadush uses really familiar flavours in the best way possible, which opens the door for all types of eaters and will leave everyone happy.

If you choose to go out to a patio, make sure you wear a mask when needed and sanitize. Also, please ensure that those around you are staying secure and taking any other necessary precautions needed. This is still a time of the “unknown” so it’s important to take every possibility into account, even though we still need to live our life and enjoy.

But, as always, stay healthy and safe.
