Best Outdoor Dates to Salvage Summer

Dating In The 6ix Aug 24, 2020

#1 Raspberry (or the fruit of your choice) Picking

After picking the perfect partner, the next (rational) step is to go to a fruit field and pick some perfect berries, peaches, apples, etc. This a great way to gain some privacy while doing an activity, especially with social distancing, because you can browse and pick at your leisure. This helps to take the pressure off about getting kicked out because they are closing or worrying about parking because the features are uber convenient.

Ps. Picking fruit is also a great activity for casually leading into a another date because you have to bake or use the fruit, obvi, before it goes bad, which is a great way to come off as casual and chill.

#2 Visit a Farmers Market

While some people associate Farmers Markets with strolling through the unpopulated streets of Europe, this adds another perk to this colorful and laid back date.

There is definitely something romantic about walking through aisles and aisles of various fruits and veggies while holding hands. It adds a greater sense of reality while the two share the mutual feeling of being on cloud 9.

Needless to say this is a perfect date for letting your feelings fly out without being too fancy or breaking the bank. Stroll, relax, and let the conversation flow while passing by all the various types of eggplants and peppers.

#3 Roam through a lavender field

Nothing screams romance more than the birds chirping as you two stroll through the tall plants of lavender because this date is equally as gorgeous as it relaxed.

Because the lavender fields are made by appointment only (thanks COVID) it gives the two of you the chance to relax and get to know each other without the pressure of having all eyes on you like being in a semi-crowded bar or restaurant. This style of date really feels like it's all about the two of you having your own space to grow, connect, and learn.

#4 Enjoy s'mores by a campfire

Nostalgia is a great way to connect with your date or long time loved one, especially because childhood memories are a great conversation starter. Whether it's summer camp or at a cottage that first introduced you to this delectable treat, the memories made that month or weekend are ones worth sharing while roasting marshmallows.

Childhood memories are often over-looked or buried away under piles and piles of work and #aduling so the chance to take a stroll down memory lane is a good way to connect to you (and your partner's) inner self. Taking the time, whether it be a date (or two, or three) is a great opportunity to learn more about some of their defining and best life lessons and memories.

#5 Walk through an arboretum

It is no secret that the city can be distracting between the various sights, sounds, and smells, so sometimes a lot of unwanted distractions can lead you to be anything but your sharpest. We all have the days where the smell of a cigarette or a honking horn can make us distracted or jumpy, and sometimes we all need to get away from these attractions that makes each city famous, which is why an arboretum is a good, out of the city option to clear your head and focus 110%.

While this does seem rather lame and like a boring date idea, let me assure you that it is the exact opposite. This date is a great place to communicate or spend some quality time together without feeling like all eyes are on the two of you at all times. The peacefulness of your surroundings will provide a calm atmosphere, which will help ease the tone of your date while helping to settle any unwanted nerves or internal thoughts.

#6 Spend a day on the beach (and pretend you are at a 5 star resort)

The beach just screams "romance" no matter if it is natural or man-made. There is something about white sand, crystal blue water, and the sun-setting that just flows like a scene in a romance novel, and that should be used to your advantage.

Every hopeless romantic will love this date idea because they know the key to a good date is making sure that the atmosphere is perfect and the mood is set, then the hard work is done because this allows you sit back, listen, and relax as you watch nature take its course.

If the atmosphere is perfect and the mood is set, then the hard work is done, which means that this is your chance to relax and let nature take its course

Catch the sunrise or sunset

If the two of you are looking for something cliche with a hint of supported romance, watching the sky rise or set to various shades of oranges, reds, purples, blues, and pinks is a great way to let the sparks rise up and settle in.

To make this date go from a 3 to a 10, sit down on a bench in a park or by the water, watch from a balcony, or go on an early hike, to get the premium view of the sun saying "Hello" or "Goodnight" as the two of you bask in the romance and sexual tension.

As always, I hope you are staying healthy and safe.

Xoxo,

Maya
