10 of the Best Starbucks Drinks Recreated at Home (Summer Edition)

Cards, Gifts, & DIYs Jul 06, 2020

We all know that while Starbucks drinks are far too delicious to pass up, and it’s important to support all types of businesses, sometimes saving can be more beneficial than spending, which never hurts. If you’re in the mood for tart, sugary, or strong, we will find the perfect drink for the two of you to keep your spirits up and your evening sweet. To help with keeping your eye on the prize (or the perishables) and to keep those around you safe, here are some recipes of Starbuck’s most delicious and sweet drinks to make from the comfort of your own home.

#1 Iced Caramel Macchiato

For a drink equally as sweet and powerful, this is the way to go. The caramel flavour, which isn’t too overwhelming, is a perfect complement to the natural coffee flavour. This drink is also one note, in a good way, as the milk, coffee, and caramel produce a real traditional and classic profile.

This drink is a perfect summer hit, as it’s a drink that can be sipped slowly or chugged all at once. The milk of your choosing, as they all work well with this drink, add a silky velvety texture to this drink, which makes it two notes instead of one, which can never go wrong.

#2 Cold Brew with Salted Cream Cold Foam

If the two of you are in the mood for something bitter and lower on the calorie side, then this is the perfect treat for the morning. The cold coffee in comparison to the light foam adds a nice new sensation each time you take a sip, it feels like bubbles in a good way, with a nice subtle flavour.

The pitch-black cold brew with the cold foam provides a nice contrast, which makes the drink aesthetically pleasing to stare at or sip. The bold appearance of the coffee with the soft toned foam mimics the flavour of the drink to a T, which allows you to see what you get. This drink is gentle and doesn’t have any overpowering element, which also makes it a nice transition in the morning to give you a nice wake up kick.

#3 Iced White Chocolate Mocha

If you two are looking for something bitter with a hint of sweetness and acidity, then this is the treat for you. The white mocha adds a nice touch to break up the notes of the mocha, which makes it a two-toned drink with a lot of complementing flavours.

The texture of the soft white chocolate syrup in comparison to the thick mocha flavour adds another element as you get it all in one sip, as the velvet touch of the mocha coats your tongue leaving you with a brilliant aftertaste.

For a day when you don’t feel like coffee but don’t want an Oreo McFlurry either, this is the drink perfect for you. Also, if you’re a fan of this flavour combo, it’s a nice option for the added texture of the cookies, it adds a nice crunch instead of just feeling like a milkshake, which can be too simple at times. This combination is honestly a great one for a semi-late morning or an afternoon treat of because caffeine and cookies is far too underrated but delicious.

#5 Caramel Frappuccino

When in the mood for something 100% sweet and 100% classic, this is the way to go. The notes of creamy caramel make this a drink that can put anyone in a good mood. For a day when you need a pick me up or want to reminisce of the good old childhood days of stealing a butterscotch (from your grandma’s bag during the intermission of a show), this is definitely the drink for the two of you.

#6 Iced Dirty Chai Latte

While this isn’t a hugely popular menu item, it doesn’t mean that it deserves zero chance to prove itself. If the two of you are tea and coffee lovers, then this is the perfect morning to early afternoon drink to keep in your life.

The balance of the chai flavour mixed with the extra shot of caffeine makes this one drink perfect for when craving cinnamon and being able to rush through your work without wanting to fall asleep. This drink also comes with a bonus for when you want to fool the public eye as being a health guru, but secretly you’re still getting all the benefits of caffeine.

#7 Passion Tea Lemonade

If the two of you are looking for something tangy with a sweet twist, then this is your go-to. The neutral and sweet flavour of passion fruit makes this drink able to soak up the heat. The passion fruit flavour complements the zing that the lemonade provides, which makes it the perfect summer treat, if the two of you are in the mood for something with a strong flavour.

#8 Iced Matcha (Green Tea) Latte

For something on the mildly sweet side with a beautiful neon pastel green, this drink is perfect for when you want something 100% one note and natural tasting. The earthy matcha flavour with the silky texture of the milk make this the perfect midafternoon summer drink, without being too overbearingly cold.

#9 Mango Dragonfruit Refresher

For something simple yet sweet, this the perfect summer treat. The subtle hints of mango with the sugary flavour of dragon fruit make this drink to be refreshing without being too overpowering. There is also a light hint of tartness, which packs some punch to make sure that the drink doesn’t feel like your drinking flavoured water, which can be a waste of calories.

Whether you two are lounging by the pool or going for walk, it is good for all occasions on a hot day because it really cools you off, oh and the beautiful purple-pink colour.

#10 Pink Drink

Last, but certainty not least is the Pink Drink. This cup of sweet and goodness, which is blushing with a beautiful pink colour is one for the books. The blend of strawberries with some tropical notes of coconut make this a fusion of flavours we never knew we needed. Plus, the fact that ‘real’ strawberries are used adds a nice texture, which contrasts the smooth quality within the drink.

The beauty of this drink for you and your loved one is the simplicity of it, as all it takes to make this a success is topping it off with coconut milk (SPOILER ALERT). Honestly, there is nothing more vibrant that spills out summer in a cup than this drink right here.

As always, stay healthy and safe.
